For the previous 2 weeks, our social media friends voted for their favorite school for the winner of the giveaway. This year we had a very close race! 

This is our 2nd year to have the contest and have had an overwhelming result and amount of feedback on social media the past 2 years. We were honored to finally participate in the 2017 Amory Chili Fest this year! We were one of 30 participants. Our "Proofs in the Pilsner" chili recipe didn't win us a trophy but we had a great time as "Team SERVPRO." We were there among many other vendors including banks, insurance companies, and other local businesses. We had the opportunity to meet many local residents and share the everything SERVPRO has to offer. We look forward to participating in the Chili Fest again next year.

We had a wonderful time at the 12th Annual SERVPRO Golf Tournament last week at Old Waverly Golf Course in West Point, MS. SERVPRO owners and employees as well as Insurance agents and adjusters from all over the northern half of Mississippi gathered together for a day full fun and relaxation!  We had over 70 participants. There were many door prizes given away for different winners of the golf tournament. There was also a cash prize given for the "Putting Green Contest." We look forward to the golf tournament each year and appreciate all that travel to attend our golf tournament! 

This year we decided to give back in a big way in our Back to School Giveaway!! We teamed up with a local office supply company, myBesco and gave away $500 in school supplies to the school with the most social media votes. The school that won was able to pick out the school supplies themselves, totaling $500! This school decided to order school supplies to help out kids that couldn't afford school supplies on their own! We got more participation out of this social media contest than ever before with over 2000 votes!

This is what our guys found this morning while doing a standard duct cleaning! When was the last time you got your ducts cleaned?? It is recommended to get them cleaned every 10 years but this picture may change your mind! 

Taste of Tupelo is where several local businesses come together for a night of socializing and networking. SERVPRO of Tupelo has participated in this event for several years and has met lots of new customers every year! 

Last weekend, a local business caught fire due to an equipment malfunction during the night. Luckily the fire department responded quickly and was able to get the fire out, but there was damage to the entire building. There was heavy soot throughout the business. We were able to meet the customer Sunday to access the damages with them. We told them we would start Monday morning to get the fire restoration process started. We know it is important, especially with businesses to work fast and to work hard. Lost time is lost money. SERPVRO of Tupelo is proud to partner and help with local businesses in the community and help in any way we can. Our goal is always "Like it never even happened." 

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – The opening of the new Tupelo Police Department is expected to be delayed further following a fire sprinkler malfunction.

Police confirm to WTVA the malfunction happened this morning to an isolated section of the building on Front Street.

A crew was testing the building’s fire sprinkler system in preparation for the opening. That’s when a leak occurred to an isolated part of the second floor, damaging the walls, carpet and furniture.

The water then leaked down to the first floor causing damage.

Police say the rest of the building is fine.

The clean-up service SERVPRO is at the scene now to assess the damage and clean up.

Officials hope the delay is minor.
